The WordPerfect Graphics (WPG) Metafile file extension is a creation of WordPerfect Corporation (WPC) and supported by other Corel applications. At first, the student from BYU has developed WordPerfect program, which is then acquired by Corel. The WPG file format contains vector and bitmap image data, and it can support at most 256 colors. However, some other features of WPG files are that it can include Encapsulated PostScript (EPS) information as well. The clipart image commonly uses the WPG extension. The original version of the TIFF format had no support for compression but by the 5th release of the format, LZW compression (a lossless compression algorithm) was supported. However, the format can also be used to store data in a lossless format without compression. This cannot be done though if the TIFF file is acting as an archive for JPEG data which is inherently lossy. TIFF supports monochrome, grayscale, palette color, and full true color.
