Rich Text Format File

In its original conception, the .rtf format was a specification for formatting text and graphics principally designed to facilitate the interoperability of documents and text between Microsoft document processing applications. It eliminated the need for specialized translation software required to open documents in different versions of MS-DOS, Windows, and Macintosh. The specification is a proprietary filename format first developed by Microsoft in 1987 to be supported in Microsoft word 3.0 and all versions of Microsoft Office Word thereof. The latest revision, version 1.9.1, was released in 2008 and also marked the end of any further enhancements to the specification by Microsoft. Through unformatted text, control words, control symbols, and groups, a piece of text can be encoded into an .rtf format. All RTF readers then process .rtf formats by separating and acting on control information disparately from the actual text in the document. Though the RTF specification is proprietary asset of Microsoft, several non-Microsoft programs support both reading .rtf documents and creating .rtf. Microsoft Office Suite is still however the most dominant application associated with this specification.
OTT

OpenDocument Document Template

OTT file extension is saved as a document template in a standard format. The file format was originally designed for use in office suites, word processing applications, LibreOffice and OpenOffice. Text document samples contained in files ending with the OTT file extension allows users to set and design layouts and apply numerous settings to documents. The layout and settings are applied to the documents without editing their contents or forming them from scratch. The OTT file type is specifically designed for users who want to create quick and easy documents, presentations, get appropriate settings and formatting options without disrupting the layout and previous settings of the files. This format is useful for occasions where documents are shared through collaboration between colleagues or groups where the content editing without interrupting the layout and format of documents.

How to convert RTF to OTT

STEP 1

Select the document file in the RTF format to convert to the OTT format, you can select a file from your computer or your Google Drive or Dropbox account.                            

STEP 2

Choose the OTT format from the drop-down list as the output format, and click the Convert button, you can convert up to 5 files at the same time and a maximum size of up to 500 MB.

STEP 3

Wait until your file is uploaded and converted into the OTT document format, you can download the converted file up to a maximum of 5 times, and can also delete the file from the Download page.
