JPEG 2000 Core Image File

The JP2 file extension, also known as JPEG2000, was created by the JPEG Committee in the year 2000. The JP2 succeeded the first JPEG Standard in 1992 which was cosine transform based. It features the use of a "wavelet-base", unlike its predecessor JPEG standards. This file format uses a different image compression method. The compression method involves altering certain sections of the image, in terms of quality reduction. This method of compression ensures smaller file sizes and optimal storage. The JP2 file format has made several improvements over the JPEG Standard since 1992. The JP2 files can make use of both the lossless and lossy compression techniques.
PCX

Paintbrush Bitmap Image File

The Picture Exchange file format, shortened PCX, with the .pcx filename extension is an image file format developed by ZSoft Corporation. It was initially released in 1985 as a lossless bitmap image format and for a time was the default file format for PC paintbrush. The format is now largely superseded by other formats given the target platforms for the software associated with the format are no longer in production, i.e. MS DOS and Windows 1.0.

How to convert JP2 to PCX

STEP 1

Select the image file in the JP2 format to convert to the PCX format, you can select a file from your computer or your Google Drive or Dropbox account.                            

STEP 2
