WOFF WOFF stands for Web Open Font Format and is a font format used in creating and maintaining a website's font. WOFF was created in 2009 by Jonathon Kew, Tal Leming, and Erik Van Blockland and they wrote the specification by using a source code created by Jonathan Kew. WOFF is supported by all main browsers. These browsers include Firefox, Google Chrome, Internet Explorer, along with many more. Some of the browsers may require that the same origin is in place, meaning it prevents WOFF fonts being used from different browsers. Other servers might request that the manual addition is the proper MIME type. A WOFF file reduces the file size from a Truetype format to a file size 40 percent smaller. WOFF has now been revised with a new code by google that uses Brotli as the compression format. WOFF is a wrapper that uses SFNT fonts.
TTF TTF, most commonly referred to as a True Type Font file extension is an outline raster font originally developed by Apple Inc. It works with the Mac OS X, classic Mac OS and Microsoft Windows OS as well. The unique trait about TTF font file extensions is that .ttf offers a high degree of precision and control in terms of the font-size, pixels and how they are displayed. No pixelation occurs and it can be resized without loss in quality. It can store images and appears the same when printed, as it appears on the screen.
