| Technical Details | A wiki can be created using locally hosted software or can be created using many publicly available services on the internet. The difference being how the wiki will be accessible, either over an internet connection or on a private network. Some providers charge a monthly premium to host publicly accessible wikis. A special text format or wiki markup is used to add or edit content on a wiki page through a WYSIWYG editor. The markup defines the appropriate syntax to use to create certain textual features such as headings, line breaks, or lists. |
